Welcome to Rosholt, South Dakota.
Rosholt was named for railroad builder Julius Rosholt (JT.5). The Fairmont and Veblen railroad was built there in 1913-1914. The town's newspaper, The Rosholt Review, in its first issue, Dec 4, 1913, describes Mr. Rosholt as being fond of saying "My railroads may not be as long as the others, but they are just as wide."
Here is a view of Rosholt, South Dakota from the air.
The postcard (circa 1985) says: "The Town of Rosholt, South Dakota was established August 13, 1913. Rosholt is located in the far Northeast corner of South Dakota and is centered in a prosperous farming community. The present population is 450. Rosholt is a popular hunting and fishing area."

In 1988, Rosholt, South Dakota celebrated their 75th anniversary. In a few years, it will be their centennial.
